ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN brings the Echoes In November tour to Kraków and Warszawa
The former the Gathering vocalist plays Hype Park on 21 November and Proxima on 22 November, with Dutch prog rockers Lesoir as support.
Anneke van Giersbergen is a metal vocalist from the Netherlands. She plays with Vuur.
Born in Sint-Michielsgestel, Netherlands, Anneke van Giersbergen rose to international prominence in 1994 as the lead vocalist of The Gathering. Her warm, expressive voice and emotional delivery helped define landmark releases such as Mandylion and Nighttime Birds, steering European metal toward atmospheric, progressive, and gothic territories. After parting ways with The Gathering in 2007, she established herself as a prolific solo artist and bandleader, launching Agua de Annique, the progressive metal outfit Vuur, and collaborative endeavors such as The Gentle Storm with Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Beyond her own bands, she has become one of heavy music's most celebrated guest vocalists, maintaining a close, long-running creative partnership with Devin Townsend, as well as contributing to Ayreon, Moonspell, and Amorphis. Seamlessly moving between crushing metal riffs, delicate acoustic folk, and symphonic arrangements, van Giersbergen remains a deeply respected figure whose versatile vocal artistry continues to inspire singers across the heavy music spectrum.
