Angel is the solo project of the Norwegian vocalist and songwriter Helena Iren Michaelsen, who also sings with Imperia. Her debut A Woman's Diary: Chapter I appeared in 2005, and Chapter II followed in April 2020 on Massacre Records, with The Hidden Chapter in December 2020. A Femme Metal Webzine interview published on 3 February 2021 describes the music as metal-influenced but softer and more emotional, with orchestral and symphonic arrangements. Oliver Philipps arranges the orchestrations and plays piano on the 2020 releases, and the hidden chapter strips the songs down to voice and piano. She was still working with her band and on a new Imperia album.
