Numento, the extreme progressive metal band from Helsinki, have released a new music video inspired by the Evil Dead films. The band shared the news through their own channels, and Norwegian metal media picked it up on 14 October 2026.
The video continues a busy run of releases for the Finnish group. Their recent output includes the singles “The Extortionist”, “One with the Void” and “Folie à deux”, all from 2026, following “Wrath” in 2025 and “The Solipsist” and “Timetrap” in 2024. The band’s discography counts 21 releases, with the first listed entry dating from 2015.
Katri Hiovain on vocals and kantele
Katri Hiovain has handled vocals and kantele in Numento since 2011. Outside the band she is also known from the projects Keoma and Varjomieli. Her voice and the traditional Finnish kantele are part of the group’s sound alongside the twin guitars of Aleksi Vehmassalo and Atte Asikainen, drummer Mikko Virtanen and bassist Johnny Grinds, who joined in 2025.
Numento was formed in Helsinki in 2004 and has stayed active since. Their lyrics deal with nature, death, the universe, malevolence and fate.
